Target Audiences

All members of SPS hospitals are welcome to attend. Members are invited to allow up to five individuals per hospital to register. Attendees invited by SPS to present at the NLS do not count toward their organization’s registrant limit of five team members.​ Each individual planning to attend from your hospital must register themselves, including all presenters. Below is a list of roles to consider sending from your hospital:

  • Quality & safety team members (e.g., Project Managers, Quality & Safety Leaders or Advisors, Quality Improvement Specialists)
  • Professionals with oversight of and/or subject matter expertise in:
    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) or Safety Disparities
    • Human Factors Engineering
    • Employee/Staff Safety
    • Ambulatory Safety 
  • Unit champions with improvement responsibilities (e.g., Nurse Managers, HAC Champions, Clinical Unit Leadership, Physician Leaders in Quality & Patient Safety)
  • Parent & family partners
  • Frontline staff with a passion for Patient & Employee/Staff Safety 

Learning Session Objectives

  • Examine harm prevention tactics and culture strategies that accelerate improvement in patient and employee/staff safety.
  • Formulate next steps to promote proactive safety and safety disparities for their integration into existing improvement efforts.
  • Discover how participants can optimize organizational growth by learning collectively through shared connections.

Location & Hotel

The learning session will be hosted at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa, 23808 Resort Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78261. There are many amenities on the hotel’s 600-acre property, including six restaurants, Starbucks, a 9-acre waterpark, outdoor gathering space, the Lantana Spa, and a golf course. Please note, the hotel block is now closed.

Transportation

San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is 13.5 miles from the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa. SAT is served by the airlines of AeroMexico, Alaska, Allegiant, American, Condor, Delta, Frontier JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, Sun Country, United, Viva Aerobus, and Volaris. Several rental car companies are available, click here to explore options. Taxis and rideshare vehicles can meet customers on the outer commercial curbside of Terminal A.
