Meet us in St. Louis! The network is excited for our in-person, Spring 2023 National Learning Session! NLS will be held in St. Louis, MO on May 10-12.

Target Audiences

All members of SPS hospitals are welcome to attend. Members are invited to allow up to five individuals per hospital to register. Attendees invited by SPS to present at the NLS do not count toward their organization’s registrant limit of five team members (please note, the network at this time has opened registration to all network members beyond the initial five allotted per hospital). Each individual planning to attend from your hospital must register themselves. Below is a list of roles to consider sending from your hospital:

  • Quality and Safety Team Members (Project Managers, Quality and Safety Leaders, Quality and Safety Advisors, Quality Improvement Specialists)​
  • Professionals with oversight of ambulatory safety ​
  • Team members with supervision of employee/staff safety
  • Unit champions with improvement responsibilities, such as nurse managers, HAC champions, clinical unit leadership, and physician leaders in quality and patient safety​
  • Subject matter experts within your institution in culture; safety disparities; and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) ​
  • Team members with a passion for patient and employee/staff safety

Learning Objectives

  • Examine execution tactics for harm prevention to construct a plan of action to accelerate improvement efforts in patient and employee/staff safety.
  • Discover how participants can influence a “joyful” climate amid constant challenges to optimize safety culture and practices.
  • Identify methods to formulate next steps that promote strategies to address ambulatory safety and safety disparities.

Location & Hotel

The learning session will be hosted at the Marriott St. Louis Grand, 800 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63101. The Marriott St. Louis Grand is offering a special SPS discounted rate of $209.00 per night. To receive this discount, you must reserve your room by April 24 (please note, this date was extended and the block may close early if capacity is reached prior to this date). Rooms can be reserved here. Please note, the National Learning Session dates are May 10-12. The language and dates in the hotel room block link correspond with the nights the hotel rooms are available (May 9-11 with check out on May 12).

Transportation

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is 14 miles to the Marriott St. Louis Grand. STL is served by the airlines of Air Canada, Southern Airways Express, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Cape Air, Charter Flights, Delta, Frontier, Lufthansa, Southwest, Spirit, and United. Several rental car companies are available, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.

Taxis are available from Terminal 1 (door 14) and Terminal 2 (door 12). Ride apps Uber and Lyft are also available in the following pick up zones: Terminal 1 (door 6) and Terminal 2 (door 10). The St. Louis MetroLink, the metropolitan’s light rail system, is available from Terminal 1 (door 1) and Terminal 2 (door 12). The MetroLink’s closest drop off is one block from the hotel (stop 8th and Pine).
