Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, CHOC Children's Orange
Sandip Godambe, MD, PhD is the senior vice president and chief medical officer (CMO) at Children's Health of Orange County (CHOC). In this role, he has primary oversight of activities involving medical staff, pharmacy, mental health, quality, patient safety, regulatory affairs, and risk and accreditation, and the CHOC Institutes of Excellence. As part of this role, he oversees the clinical operations of CHOC's two hospital campuses, ambulatory and population health networks, and virtual health programs. He is also a professor of pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine, CA. His expertise in quality and safety stems from his experiences as a senior Baldrige examiner, IHI fellow, clinical leader and research. He is involved in numerous collaboratives both locally, nationally, and internationally.
