Nick Kielbania

Nicolas serves as Director of the Environmental Health and Safety Department at Boston Children’s Hospital. Along with a staff of 18 motivated safety professionals, Nick oversees an array of corporate health and safety programs, including but not limited to; environment of care management, construction safety, industrial hygiene, employee injury reduction, fire safety, environmental compliance, chemical materials and x-ray radiation.

Before joining Boston Children’s, Nick held the role of Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He has worked in the Boston healthcare sector for 23 years and holds an MS in Environmental Health from Tufts University and a BS in Environmental Science from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Nick also holds professional certifications including the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).

Nick lives in Ipswich, Massachusetts with his wife Melissa, and their three children, Craig, Colleen and Erin. During the warm season, Nick and his family enjoy spending their time boating the waters of Cape Ann and relaxing on the sandy beaches.
