As Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Michelle oversees nursing, nursing practice, volunteer services, patient experience and child life and creative art therapies at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, which is a 195-patient bed, Level IV NICU and Level 1 Pediatric Emergency & Trauma Center.
Michelle has over 20 years of health care experience, including leadership, risk management, research, and bedside nursing.
Most recently, Michelle served as the Administrative Director of Nursing Operations at Cardinal Glennon. She has had several leadership roles within SSM Health, including Director of Critical Care Services, Director of Medical, Surgical, Oncology and Transplant Services, as well as Director of Clinical Operations within SLUCare.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Saint Louis University and a Master’s of Nursing degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She has been certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive (NEA-BC). She is active on several nursing professional organizations including, Society of Pediatric Nursing, American Nursing Association, Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders, and Missouri Nurses Association. Outside of work she is volunteers her time for Team Activities for Special Kids, St. Louis Crisis Nursery and March of Dimes – Heroes in Action Award.
