Elizabeth Haines, DO, MSc, FACEP is the Service Chief of Quality and the Patient Safety Officer at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital-NYU Langone Health and the Clinical Director of the Sala Institute for Child & Family Centered Care. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She previously held departmental roles in Emergency Medicine education, clinical operations, and safety before moving into systems-level work in pediatric clinical quality & safety. Following her post-graduate training in Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine, she completed a Masters of Applied Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety at Johns Hopkins University- Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Haines has a focus in Equity improvement, specifically how to achieve equitable prevention of safety events and the elimination of in-hospital harm disparities.
