Laura Bax, MN, RN, NE-BC, CCRN is a Quality Specialist with Doernbecher Children's Hospital Quality Team. In my role, I support our children's hospital in managing its quality and safety priorities; I investigate serious safety events and work to reduce preventable harm; and I coach numerous teams across our organization in problem solving—to help them identify, understand, and fix problems for the benefits of patients. My clinical background is in nursing, and I worked in the Doernbecher Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for 9 years. Other roles I have held are a Patient Safety Specialist and the Assistant Nurse Manager for the PICU. I have Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Nursing, and a Master's in Nursing in Heath Systems and Organizational Leadership from Oregon Health and Science University. In my free time, I enjoy all forms of adventure including traveling, mountaineering, and surfing, and doing all those things with my husband, Tyler, and my son Ansel.
