Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

I am a neonatologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), with a focus on quality improvement, safety and patient oriented research around hospital-acquired infections. I lead the central line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) prevention team as well as the neonatal sepsis quality improvement team within CHOP’s NICU. I am a member of the Pediatric Sepsis Program and the CHOP NICU sepsis registry workgroup. I also co-lead the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Consortium Infectious Diseases Focus group. I am passionate about improving outcomes for our patients by finding ways to better prevent infections, and detect and treat them early. I have recently begun to explore the relationship between patient harm and equity at our institution, and am excited to contribute to the PHARE cohort. Through this work, I hope to gain more insights into how patient safety and equity intersect, and use that knowledge to drive improvements in care.
