KAREN MATHIAS SABOE, MSN, RN, APRN, P-CNS, BC Karen Mathias Saboe is a Patient and Staff Safety Specialist at Gillette Children’s Hospital. Karen co-leads safety efforts for harm prevention that includes support to multiple Healthcare Associated Condition (HAC) Work Teams, the Coaching for Safety Program, and other Culture of Safety strategies. Karen received her master's in pediatric critical care nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and is certified as an APRN Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (P-CNS). Karen has pursued specialized training from Stanford’s Center for Pediatric Education (CAPE) in simulation and debriefing and has completed her Certified Master TeamSTEPPS™ Trainer program at the University of Minnesota. She has presented widely both regionally and nationally in the areas of resuscitation and early recognition, simulation strategy, and teamwork and communication.
