Joyce Deptola

Joyce is a nurse by trade and has worked in pediatrics her entire career. Having worked in many nursing roles at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Joyce is currently the Director of Quality and Patient Safety. She is trained as an IHI Improvement Advisor, and in addition to her role at Rainbow has served as a Nurse Consultant for Solutions for Patient Safety focused on reducing serious harm through work across the network involving job instruction training and use of the kamishibai cards, and is now serving in the Culture Consultant role. Coming from a pediatric hospital within a larger hospital system, Joyce and her team have successfully navigated the challenges of implementing the work of SPS in her organization. Joyce is also a wife, mom of four children, and a dog mom. She enjoys cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, her Cleveland sports teams, and spending time in the great outdoors!
