Glenn F. Billman, M.D., completed a combined Bachelors/Masters program of study at Stanford University in 1979, and received an M.D. degree from the University of California at San Diego in 1983. His postgraduate training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology was also received at UCSD In 1986, he joined the pathology faculty at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego where he held the position of Associate Director of Pathology for 14 years. In 2000, he applied for, was accepted as a fellow in Outcomes research at Rady Children’s Hospital’s Center For Child Health Outcomes. In 2001, after the completion of this fellowship, he served as Rady Children’s Hospital’s first Medical Safety Officer. In 2004 – he became the Director of Patient Safety at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. In 2009, he returned to Rady Children’s Hospital in 2009 where it is now his privilege to serve as their Chief Quality Officer.
