Diana Gomez has been a highly accomplished Clinical Practice Specialist with over 17 years of Pediatric Emergency expertise, clinical education, and leadership. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. Throughout her tenure at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Diana developed evidence-based policies, implemented best practice, and helped enhance emergency department workflows to improve patient safety and outcomes. She also served as an adjunct clinical instructor, guiding nursing students at several universities. Diana has led several initiatives such as sepsis care, improving allergy history identification at a system-wide level, involvement in the creation of several clinical pathways, and development and implementation of numerous Advanced Nursing Interventions: presenting her work at national conferences. As part of the Emergency Department team, she has received accolades such as the Lantern Award and recognition at the Annual South Region FNA Symposium. A dedicated volunteer, she has provided medical relief in Haiti and remains active in professional organizations like the Emergency Nurses Association and FHA.
