Debrea Griffith

Debrea Griffith, MBA, RN, NE-BC, certified in integrated behavioral health, is a Nursing Director at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Debrea provides leadership oversight for a 48-bed unit that cares for patients admitted (but not limited) to general medicine and pulmonary services. Children from all age groups with a variety of disease entities including patients requiring behavioral health services are admitted to the unit. Debrea has been instrumental in the introduction and development of various tools and resources to safely support care for the behavioral health population on medical units. Debrea co-authors, "Using Hospital Incident Command Systems to Respond to the Pediatric Mental and Behavioral Health Crisis of the COVID-19 Pandemic" article in the Journal of Nursing Administration. She is passionate about staff safety, behavioral health, and mentoring students—so much so that she established and continues to facilitate a nursing mentoring program for student nurses underrepresented in health care known as Inpsire2.
