Colleen Furey

My name is Colleen Furey. I am a Patient Safety Specialist at Children's Wisconsin, within the Quality & Safety department. I have been in the department for the past 8 years, and have been in my role for the past four years. Part of my role is to coordinate patient safety initiatives including participation and / or leadership of project teams and to ensure successful implementation of recommendations and decisions. One of my current projects is working on our organization's behavioral events team in which we are developing and implementing improvement methods around reducing staff injuries related to behaviorally challenging patients as well as screening patients with mental and behavioral health needs in order to be proactive in providing the best and safest care to this patient population. I have a passion for this area of work and enjoy working with our multidisciplinary teams to safely and effectively drive change.
