Originally from the Southwest, I grew up in the Four Corners regions of New Mexico and attended Nursing School a the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, graduating with my BSN in 2007. After six years spent in Pediatric ICUs and Flight Transport, my family and I relocated to the Pacific Northwest for employment at Seattle Children's Hospital in the Cardiac ICU in first as staff Nurse, then Charge Nurse, and finally switching into leadership as the Clinical Quality Leader in 2017. In Spring of 2021 I graduated from the University of Washington's School of Nursing with a Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (DNP-PCNS). I also sit on the Board of Advisors for the 501(C)3 non-profit organization Thai-Burma Border Health Initiative (TBBHI.org) supporting healthcare access and health literacy needs among stateless refugees in the contested border regions of Burma and Thailand. My free time is spent with my family in the outdoors as much as possible, whether gardening at home or hiking along the coast, and advocating for Public Land access issues through the organization Backcountry Hunters and Anglers (BHA.org). I live in Seattle, WA full time.
